The Peninsula newspaper Editor-in-Chief, Dr Khalid Mubarak Al Shafi, issued a statement on 27 December 2023, confirming that information which had been recently circulating on WhatsApp groups stating that The Peninsula was going to cease printed media fully and only continue with digital media was false.

و أود ان أوكد للقراء والمتابعين الكرام أن ما تم تداوله بهذا الشأن كان مجرد معلومات مضللة وغير صحيحة، و أن صحيفة البننسولا باقية على عهدها لتقدم رسالتها…
He confirmed that the information circulated was misleading and incorrect, and The Peninsula will continue with both printed and digital media.
