First joint humanitarian aid shipment between qatar united kingdom sent gaza

Qatar's Ministry of Foreign Affairs announced on 25 January 2024 that the first joint humanitarian aid shipment between Qatar & the United Kingdom has been sent to Gaza.


The joint humanitarian aid provisioning is within the framework of cooperation for humanitarian development between the two countries.

The shipment was dispatched in the presence of Her Excellency Ms Lolwa bint Rashid Al Khater, Minister of State for International Cooperation at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, and His Excellency Mr David Cameron, Foreign Secretary of the friendly United Kingdom.

The shipment included aid weighing 29 tons aboard a Qatari Armed Forces plane which headed to the city of Al Arish in Egypt.

The aid includes food supplies and shelter supplies.

Qatar Fund for Development and the British Foreign, Commonwealth and Development Office have signed a memorandum of understanding for strategic cooperation in the field of development.
