Implementing the directives of His Highness The Amir Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al-Thani, the first flights of the air bridge allocated by the State of Qatar to support the sisterly Republic of Türkiye to confront the disaster of the earthquake that struck southern Türkiye started today, 6 February 2023.

The first flights of the air bridge are accompanied by a team from the Qatar International Search and Rescue Group of the Internal Security Force (Lekhwiya) equipped with specialized mechanisms for search and rescue operations and a field hospital, relief aid, tents and winter supplies.

Qatar Airways operates special flight from Doha to Adana, Türkiye

In view of recent unfortunate events and coordination with the Turkish Embassy in Doha, Qatar Airways also announced on its official Twitter account that it would immediately operate a special flight from Doha to Adana on Monday, 6 February, to help people visit their families on this difficult time.

The special flight is scheduled to depart today, 6 February 2023, at 10:30 pm. The flight fares are QR 1,750 for the one-way flight and QR 2,850 for the return flight. Tickets for flight QR3072 will be issued from the Qatar Airways Tower 1 Sales Office only.

The Amir offers condolences to the President of Türkiye

H.H. The Amir also held a telephone conversation with H.E. President of the sisterly Republic of Türkiye Recep Tayyip Erdogan, on Monday, 6 February 2023, during which H.H. The Amir expressed his condolences to H.E. the Turkish President and to the brotherly Turkish people on the victims of the earthquake, praying the Almighty Allah to have mercy upon them, grant them paradise, and inspire their families with patience and solace.

His Highness also expressed, during the call, the State of Qatar's support for the sisterly Republic of Turkey in mitigating the serious humanitarian repercussions left by the earthquake, wishing the injured a speedy recovery.
