The Qatar Public Prosection announced on 11 September 2023, that the Attorney General had ordered the transfer of two officers in the Ministry of Interior to the Specialized Criminal Court to punish them for their crimes.
The Public Prosecution had completed investigations of the two Ministry of Interior officers, who had been arrested by the Ministry of Interior and transferred to the Public Prosecution in 2022.
The Prosecutor General's investigations concluded with the findings that the accused had committed crimes related to embezzlement of public money, forgery of official documents, deliberate use of public money, bribery, laundering the money derived from these crimes, and abuse of power.
