H.H. Sheikh Tamim, the Amir of Qatar, issues Law No. 13 of 2019 to construct a media city in the State of Qatar.

According to the decree, a city will be built and it will be called 'media city', which will come with its own juridical personality, independent budget or arbitrage, and borders and coordinates which will be assigned and decided by the Council of Ministers.

The aim of the media city is to manage and to develop the media activities in State of Qatar, and to enhance its status or position as a place or location that attracts the international media, technology companies, research and training organisations in the media field and in the digital media, and to support and encourage technology and digital media projects.

It also eyes to achieve the economic and professional integration or sufficiency with the state's different projects and vision and to provide an interactive and attractive environment through the companies that are permitted to work or operate at the media city.

The decree or the law is to be implemented soon, and it shall be effective on the second day of publishing it in the official newspaper.
