Ministry of Interior in a tweet on 19 June 2023 announced that the Search and Follow-up Department has successfully apprehended 9 suspects for their involvement in fraudulent activities.

These individuals deceived people by making false promises of profits by creating fake companies to engage in visa trading.

With the approval of the Public Prosecution, many suspects were apprehended after their illicit activities were monitored on social media platforms and through specific Document Clearance Offices. Subsequent searches conducted at their residences and workplaces led to the discovery of significant amounts of money, totalling over QR 190,000.

Additionally, counterfeit company records, rental contracts, Qatari citizens' ID cards, prepaid bank cards, and bank cards belonging to the expatriate workers to whom the visas were sold were seized. The suspects are currently being referred to the Public Prosecution.
