The Public Works Authority (Ashghal) will construct 69 new schools and kindergartens. Five of these schools will be handed over to the Supreme Education Council (SEC) this year and next year. These schools are located in Laqta, New Salata, Markhiya, Shahaniya and Al Shamal, a local Arabic daily reported yesterday. Another school will be ready by January next year and four by May. Two of these will be located in Medinat Khalifa and other two near Qatar University. Construction of another 10 schools will be completed by August next year, the daily said quoting a senior Ashghal official. Ashghal will also construct 25 kindergartens by the same period.
