This Eid mark your calendar for a musical event like no other — monsters making music!

Your favourite Sesame Street characters Elmo, Abby Cadabby, Big Bird and their friends take to the stage to share love for music in Sesame Street Live ‘Elmo Makes Music’ at Qatar National Convention Center from tomorrow through July 22. Tickets for all 10 performances are on sale at Virgin Megastores, QTickets. com, Lulu centres and hypermarkets, FNAC (Lagoona Mall) and Sharaf DG (Ezdan Mall).

Cadabby loves to sing and wants to start a new band on Sesame Street! Join the fun as Abby, Elmo and friends discover ‘instruments’ they never knew existed… pots and spoons, trash can lids, and cookie jars!

Everyone’s favourite fun, furry and feathered friends teach children that we can make and enjoy beautiful music together.

The event is a joint effort of Dania Group, Fusion Middle East and Qatar Tourism Authority (QTA) to bring international shows to Qatar during Eid Al Fitr celebrations.

QTA organises Eid celebration in collaboration with public and private sector partners to reinforce Qatar’s position as a preferred family tourist destination within the GCC.

The festival for local community and residents also targets inbound tourists from the GCC looking for a get-away in a destination with shared culture and heritage full of family-friendly entertainment options. The festive season continues with 2015 Qatar Summer Festival expected to drive up visitor numbers with new attractions, special hotel rates, cultural events and special offers on renowned brands this year.

Both festivals are part of Qatar’s strategy to grow and diversify its tourism offerings in partnership with the private sector. Tickets for the show are priced QR110 and above. Audiences have a choice of two show timings — 5pm and 8pm.

Like television’s Sesame Street, each Sesame Street Live production features lessons for all ages. Through the razzle-dazzle of Broadway-quality musical production, children learn about patience, acceptance and teamwork. The universal appeal of a Sesame Street Live production continues long after preschool. Adults will appreciate the high-tech stagecraft, cleverly written scripts, and music they’ll recognise and enjoy sharing with children, such as ‘The Hustle’; ‘You Should Be Danching’; and ‘Rockin’ Robin’.

‘Elmo Makes Music’ features nearly 24 songs, including classics children will love to sing such as ‘C is for Cookie’ and The Alphabet Song’.
