Doha's oldest and largest amateur choir, The Doha Singers will sing a selection of hits from Broadway musicals in their "From Broadway to Doha" concerts on Wed 27th May and Fri 5th June.
With songs from ever-popular musicals such as The Sound of Music, Phantom of the Opera, Les Miserables and West Side Story to name a few, there will be something to get everyone's feet tapping and bring memories of yester-year flooding back.
Following their two sell-out concerts in December, The Doha Singers will give two performances of their “From Broadway to Doha” programme at 8pm on Wed 27th May at the Grand Hyatt hotel and at 7pm on Fri 5th June at the College of the North Atlantic Qatar.
Laura Dziubaniuk, Musical Director of the Doha Singers commented "We have chosen a programme that we hope appeals to as wide an audience as possible. It features songs from Broadway musicals that have stood the test of time and remain as popular as ever. I am really pleased to be able to direct such a talented group of singers, several of whom will be performing solos and duets during the show".
John Warren, Chairman of the Doha Singers, said "The remarkable thing about the Doha Singers is that we are a group of singers with incredibly varied backgrounds - all nationalities, religions, genders and levels of ability are welcome to join without an audition, and despite this, or perhaps because of this, the group produces a wonderful sound. Doha Singers is a community choir where ordinary members of our community make music for everyone else's enjoyment. We are fortunate to be supported in a variety of ways by the College of the North Atlantic Qatar, Grand Hyatt Hotel, The American School of Doha and 51 East without whose help our concerts would not be possible.";
Tickets for the concerts are available online at www.Q-Tickets.com. Tickets are priced at QAR 100 per person for the concert at the Grand Hyatt on 27 May 2015 and QAR 75 per person for the concert at CNA-Q on 5 June 2015.
