Ministry of education and higher education opens 5 new schools 1

The Ministry of Education and Higher Education opens five new preparatory and secondary schools for boys and girls in a number of population centers in the country, in order to provide the best possible educational experience for students and to achieve Qatar's development goals and National Vision 2030.

The new schools will start receiving students at the beginning of the new academic year 2022-2023, with each school able to accommodate 786 students 36 of them have special needs, divided into 6 classes, and the remaining students (750 students) divided into 30 classrooms.

The schools are distinguished by their modern buildings that unite with the educational system in facilitating the work of administrative and teaching bodies and making the educational process smoother and richer for students. Each school includes a sports hall, a theater, science laboratories, art workshops, computer Labs, outdoor playgrounds, in addition to an air-conditioned school assembly yard and dedicated parking.

The Ministry was keen to implement the country's sustainability standards during the construction of the schools, as it used environmentally friendly materials to ensure the classification of new school buildings as green buildings according to national standards, while also implementing security and safety conditions and ensuring easy access for people with special needs.

The five new schools are:

  • Amr Ibn Al-Aas Secondary School for Boys
  • Talha bin Obaid Allah Preparatory School for Boys
  • Ramla Bint Abi Sufyan Secondary School for Girls
  • Hind Bint Amr Al-Ansaria Preparatory School for Girls
  • Saeed Bin Zaid Preparatory School for Boys

Coinciding with the opening of the schools, HH Minister Buthaniya bint Ali Al-Nuaimi issued a ministerial decision appointing principals for the five new schools, namely Mr. Said Abdel Hadi Saad Luthain as director of Amr Ibn Al-Aas Secondary School for Boys located in Al-Wakra area and affiliated to its municipality, and Mr. Gamal Mohamed Yakoub Al Jaber as director of Talha bin Obaid Allah Preparatory School for Boys, located in Rawdat Al Hamama area of Al Daayen Municipality, and Ms. Maryam Khalaf Naser Hattab Al Kaabi Principal of Ramla Bint Abi Sufyan Secondary School for Girls located in Umm Salal Muhammad area of Umm Salal Municipality, and Ms. Shaikhah Jubran Said Al Mazarkah Al Shahrani Principal of Hind Bint Amr Al-Ansaria Preparatory School for Girls, located in Bufasilah area of Umm Salal Municipality, and Mr. Hassan Abdallah Mohamed Saleh Al Abdallah Principal of Saeed Bin Zaid Preparatory School for Boys located in Al-Wukair area of the Al-Wakra municipality.​

It is worth noting that the five schools opened by the Ministry are part of the PPP schools project and are part of a total of eight schools for the first package that will be opened through this partnership.
