#TrumpRally

In the wake of the events in Charlottesville, Virginia on August 12, 2017, as a ‘Unite The Right’ rally against the removal of a Confederate statue of General Robert E. Lee turned violent with white supremacist demonstrators clashing with anti-racist protesters, Twitter blew up in the days that followed. The prime target? U.S. President Donald Trump, with further peaceful rallies/marches organized in cities across the U.S. in denouncement of the President’s controversial reaction to the Charlottesville uprising.

#WednesdayWisdom

Because we all know the middle of the week is the most auspicious day to teach and be taught. From uplifting advice for self-motivation, to those little nuggets of truth that help change the way we look at the world – there’s much to be learned on Wednesdays. Check out a few of the Tweets below!

#Hashtag10

Ten years ago, the beloved and well-worn pound symbol – stalwart companion of cordless phones since 1994, was reborn as a phoenix rising from the analog ashes, and ascended into the Twitter-verse, where it became the trending hashtag we know and can’t live without today. This month marks its 10-year anniversary as the ultimate symbol of social media. So go ahead and bow down.

#BlackGirlsRock

Because beauty comes in all shapes, sizes, and colours and we’d do well to always remember this. Ladies it’s time to lift each other up, rather than tear each other down. And this week on Twitter, women of colour were shouting it from the mountaintop -- #BlackGirlsRock. And yes, they do! As artists, activists, scientists, educators, community leaders, mothers, daughters, sisters, and friends – Twitter stood up and took notice. Check out the Tweets below and feel the love!

#SolarEclipse2017

What celestial event could possibly be so epic that it could bring Bonnie Tyler out of hiding to belt out her equally epic one-hit wonder? It could only be #SolarEclipse2017. While you were out making eclipse-viewers out of old cereal boxes, the inimitable Ms. Tyler was reminding us that we’re all just living in a powder keg and givin’ off sparks. Tell that to NASA – as the view from space was igniting to say the least.
