This week, we're featuring MAWAIID - the reliable and trustworthy digital solution that allows patients to easily stay connected with healthcare providers in Qatar at the initial stage. MAWAIID is a free service and enables patients to find doctors, clinics, medical centres and hospitals, so they can make swift and easy online appointments.

Mawaiid's aim is to be the market leader in online medical appointments and services in Qatar and offer patients a more convenient and seamless way to connect with doctors and medical facilities via the Mawaiid App, its website and its call centre.

How was the idea for MAWAIID born?

The idea for MAWAIID was born when the founder Ahmad Alrefaei, one day, thought of the requirement of online medical appointments and the need for such a service in Qatar where all medical providers are listed and an appointment is pre-booked for better service. At a later stage, Adel Khashabi – a Qatari entrepreneur - joined forces to add more expertise to the MAWAIID journey. Hence, the idea of MAWAIID was born to contribute to the IT evolution in Qatar.

How did the name MAWAIID come about?

The name MAWAIID which in Arabic literally means “appointments” was chosen to reflect the whole idea and purpose of the App which is to manage the community's healthcare requirements so they can make doctor's appointments easily and take advantage of the convenience of your location.

What makes MAWAIID unique?

MAWAIID grants patients access to view the profiles of various medical practitioners and centres for better choice and so they can connect with Qatar's best healthcare providers. It maintains the profiles of medical practitioners and centres with all the details required by patients such as location, specialty, education, qualification, treatment and more. Patients can also maintain the names of dependents, friends, domestic workers, etc. in their respective profiles for wider use of the service.

MAWAIID also provides emergency dental care services which are provided via different centres in Qatar, and advertises, not only the brand, but also the profiles of medical practitioners via all social media platforms and usual advertisement methods.

How does the MAWAIID App work?

• Download the MAWAIID App on Apple Store, Google Play, or the MAWAIID website.
• Register your personal profile (including dependents if any), this is done once at the registration process.
• Find doctors and centres by name, location, specialty, treatment, etc.
• Book your preferred appointment on your preferred date.
• You will receive a call confirming your appointment or suggesting an alternative date.
• A confirmation SMS will be sent.
• Proceed to your appointment as confirmed.

What’s next for MAWAIID

MAWAIID aims to cover 100% of the Qatari medical market to spread awareness of the service. Its goal is to digitalise all other medical services under one umbrella called MAWAIID.
