Wondering how to report if your employer isn’t following the labor law, or maybe your ex-neighbor has left his abandoned car in the parking area and you're wondering how to get rid of it. Worry not! We've compiled details on where to and how to report on different issues, for example, how to submit a labor complaint, how to inform the authorities about price hikes or even how to request for wastewater removal. Abandoned vehicles

If you see an abandoned vehicle, you can notify the authorities by following these simple steps.

Procedure 1

Fill out the online application, and make sure the information is correct.

Select the municipality and enter the electricity number, zone, street and building number.

  • Enter the vehicle number.
  • Click “Start Workflow” to submit your request.

Procedure 2

Abandoned vehicles may also be reported by sending a photo of the vehicle and its location via the Whatsapp hotline at +974 3323 8885.

Consumer complaint

Need to lodge a complaint about a price hike you found somewhere? You've got a couple of options:

  1. Call the Consumer Protection Department and lodge a complaint: Whatsapp: +974 +974 6611 1400; Toll-free: 16001; Hotline (outside of Qatar): +974 4494 5555 / 4494 5001
  2. File a complaint directly at the Consumer Protection Department in West Bay on Omar Al Mukhtar Street.
  3. SMS your complaint to 92665 - According to Hukoomi all you need to do is type Please send your complaint or suggestion + the word 'consumer'.
  4. Download the complaints/feedback form from here: https://www.moci.gov.qa/en/our-services/consumer/submit-and-complain. Fill in the form and submit.
  5. You'll receive a text message on your registered mobile phone verifying your complaint reference so you can follow up later on

Documentary evidence you need to file a complaint

Whenever you do complain, it's important that you have as much evidence as possible.

  • A copy of your Qatari ID
  • Name of the party against which you wish to submit your complaint, address, work nature, violation type and place of complain
  • A detailed statement of damage caused to you, if it is applicable
  • A copy of the invoice must be presented when submitting the complaint. Without the original invoice or a copy thereof, the Consumer Protection Department will not be able to consider the complaint.

Electricity or water service interruption

Report on smartphone app

  1. On the home screen of the Kahramaa app on your mobile, there is a button for reporting the interruption.
  2. Type in the water or electricity number, phone number and Qatar ID number.
  3. Click on “report interruption” and a request will be sent to the electricity and water emergency department.
  4. There is also an option to key in any details you need to provide along with the report.

Employers and their employees can now provide comments or feedback to the MADLSA.

How to submit a labor complaint to the Ministry of Administrative Development, Labor, and Social Affairs (MADLSA)

How to submit a labor complaint to the National Human Rights Committee

The mission of the National Human Rights Committee (NHCR) is the protection and promotion of human rights for everyone, subject to the jurisdiction of Qatar (citizens, residents, and transit travelers). Those who feel their rights are violated may file a complaint to the NHRC to take necessary action.

Online

  • Fill out the online form, entering all the required information.
  • Click on 'Submit'.

In-person

  • Write your complaint clearly in the online form, then submit it in person to the NHRC.
  • Provide your contact information, including phone number, email, and address.
  • Attach a copy of your identification card (for Qataris) and a copy of your passport or visa (for non-Qataris), attaching any related documents to support your complaint.

Lodging a complaint with Ashghal

  • Login to Ashghal Customer Zone Portal, then click on "Submit a Complaint".
  • Fill in the online form, entering all the required information.
  • Attach any supporting documents, then click on “Submit”.

Minor traffic accidents

In case of minor accidents between two vehicles, the parties involved should report it through Metrash2 website or mobile app service. To register the accident and to get the approval for vehicle repair, follow the steps below. Take not more than four photos of each vehicle with one of them showing the plate number clearly.

Move your vehicle from the accident scene and park away from the road. Ensure the location service of your mobile is enabled. Sign in to Metrash2 and select 'Traffic Services' and open 'Road Accident Report' option.

  • Enter details of both vehicles: The plate number, QID number, and mobile number.
  • Attach photos of both vehicles and click on your agreement on the validity of the data.
  • Submit the report for a traffic investigation.
  • A notification SMS (text message) will be sent to you asking to wait for another message to complete the procedure.
  • After reviewing the accident photos by traffic investigators, text messages will be sent for both parties with instructions to go to the insurance company or approval for vehicle repair.

Price hike

Rainwater removal

The general public may submit a request to the Services Affairs Department at the Ministry of Municipality and Environment (MME) to pull rainwater on roads and streets from all areas. The Rainfall Emergency Committee collaborates in carrying out the service. Instructions are given below:

  • Fill out the online form, entering all the required information.
  • Enter requester information (name - mobile number - QID no.)
  • Enter “My Address” information and write your complaint.
  • Click on “Start Workflow”.

Alternatively, you can visit the Customer Service Office at the competent municipality. This service can also be obtained via Oun mobile app or by contacting the Call Center on (184). This service is provided only if the pooling of water is in the streets, not in sandy areas.

Lodging complaints and suggestions to the Ministry of Municipality and Environment

The Ministry of Municipality and Environment (MME) receives complaints and suggestions from all members of the public. The complaint or suggestion is then referred to the competent department.

Additional Information

  • Applicant’s personal information, including his/ her ID number, are completed by phone or email.
  • The Ministry of Municipality and Environment clarifies on its website the process plan of the service in detail and in the form of a work plan.
  • This service requires 1-5 days to be completed.
  • You can also call at (4426 6666) or email [email protected] to send your complaint or suggestion.

Threats

When you’re dealing with a threat, the most important things to keep in your mind are to stay calm and do not threaten back. To report any threats you may visit the Criminal Investigations Department (CID) located at Duhail. Once you file a complaint, the concerned authority will start an investigation, and if they have enough evidence they will start a criminal case that would involve interviews of the witnesses & collecting evidence related to the crime, and finally, the court will put a decision.

Moreover, you can report cyber threats through Metrash2 app and for any inquiry, you may contact the Cyber Crime Investigation Centre at 2347333 or via [email protected].

Wastewater removal (sewage removal)

Individuals, both citizens and residents, may submit a request to the Services Affairs Department at the Ministry of Municipality and Environment (MME) to remove wastewater from the septic holes that are not connected to the primary house sewage system. Check out the instructions here:

Workers lodging within family housing areas

Citizens and residents and all the public living in Qatar may contact the Ministry of Municipality and Environment online to report workers staying in the areas allocated only for families. Check out the instructions below

  • Fill in the online form, and make sure the information is correct.
  • Choose the municipality and enter the electricity number.
  • Enter the building number as well as the street and zone names.
  • Enter all the required information, then submit your request to start the workflow.
