Summers in Qatar can be harsh, but the winters here are quite the opposite. Every year, starting November until early April, one can expect the temperatures to drop, and as the months progress, we would surely need to take out our hoodies and shawls. This weather is something that we all look forward to here!

The first sign that winter is here in Qatar is that the sun starts setting pretty early, and it becomes dark as early as 5 pm!
The weather outside gets cold, especially during the evenings and we might not need the AC anymore. Many people also open their windows to let the cool, fresh breeze in the evenings and nights.
When it's cold outside, it is picnic season in Qatar, complete with families going to their favourite parks, enjoying a nice picnic and also going to beaches for a nice barbecue with friends.
Making the most of the cold weather, many events start taking place in the outdoors.
From bazaars and farmers' markets to outdoor attractions like Lusail Winter Wonderland and Baladna Park, there are many things in store for people to enjoy.
Most of the outdoor dining spots in Qatar bring out the heaters for you to have a cosy experience while enjoying the cold evenings with a hot beverage and piping hot food.
January & February is typically cold in Qatar and people start to bring out their winter wear, sweaters and jackets. You might even see people wearing their beanies too!
In the winter months, the cold water tap actually dispenses cold water. Unlike the rest of the year, you may get warm to even boiling hot water from it.

The weather is great to start exercising outdoors. The parks are filled with people jogging, walking, running and cycling. Corniche is also a favourite spot for many to enjoy the cold breeze while getting in those steps.
Camping season is huge in Qatar and Sealine or Inland Sea are two popular spots for the same. People also bring out or rent caravans to spend the night by the beach, taking in the views and cosy up by the fire pit with their family and friends.
