Qatar National Library has planned an array of interactive events as part of its celebrations of the Qatar National Day. Visitors will have the opportunity to participate in discussions and activities related to the country's environment, art, history, food and architecture.
Panel Discussion: Qatari Youths' Response to Environmental Issues - December 02, 2021, 4pm to 5pm
This panel discussion is presented as part of the Library's celebration of Qatar National Day. In this panel discussion, we will look at Qatari youth initiatives in the area of environmental sustainability, one of the UN's Sustainable Development Goals.
Help Clean Qatar's Beaches - December 04, 2021, 10am to 11am
Conserving Qatar's beaches is a social responsibility. On the occasion of Qatar National Day, we invite families to participate in this initiative to save and protect Qatar's marine environment. This event is organized in collaboration with the Doha Environmental Actions Project, a voluntary organization that focuses on the fight against plastic pollution in Qatar, together with the support of SDGeneration, Greener Future and THIMUN Qatar.Join us to protect Qatar's environment. More information will be sent via email to registrants. Last day to register for this event is 2 December 2021.
Qatar National Day Wikithon - December 05, 2021, 5pm to 8pm
Wikithon is an event in which people come together to learn how to edit, improve and enrich the contents of Wikipedia. This year, the Library’s Qatar National Day Wikithon will focus on editing and enriching Arabic and English pages on Qatari-themed topics, including history, nature and more. We invite all enthusiasts to come and join this third edition of Wikithon at the Library.

On hot summer nights in old Doha, grandparents and grandchildren slept on the rooftops to catch the evening breeze. On those unforgettable nights, grandparents told mesmerizing Hazawi (stories) to the little grandchildren that spoke of a sea monster and a woman with donkey legs! In celebration of Qatar National Day, join us from your home to listen to stories from Qatar's past.

Qatari Cuisine with Chef Hissa Al Sulaiti - December 08, 2021, 5pm to 6pm
In this event, we highlight the traditional dishes, such as Qatari coffee, which is indispensable in all Qatari homes and social events, that remain a part of Qatari cuisine despite the emergence of modern foods. Join Chef Hissa Al Sulaiti and prepare a special traditional dish. We welcome everyone, including beginners and those who want to learn the art of cooking, to this event. Qatar's National Service Requirement: Conversation with Captain Jassim Al Jaber - December 09, 2021, 4pm to 5pm
In celebration of Qatar National Day, join our discussion with Captain Jassim Al Jaber to understand the goals and the requirements of the patriotric duty of national service and the guidelines for Qatari citizens.Youth are Qatar's warriors and future. Join us to learn more about the importance of enrolling in national service in Qatar.
Contemporary Architecture and Urbanism in Qatar - December 12, 2021, 6pm to 7:30pm
Join us for this talk to listen to a critical analysis of Doha’s urban megaprojects and iconic architectural landmarks, in addition to local and traditional architecture and urbanism. Projects presented will include Education City, the Museum of Islamic art, Qatar National Museum, the Msheireb Cultural District, and traditional souqs and neighborhoods.
Qatar Art Exhibition for Young Adults - December 18, 2021, 4pm to 5pm
In celebration of Qatar National Day, we invite all talented young adult artists to showcase their appreciation for Qatari culture through painting and other art forms. This two-hour session will give you the opportunity to work alongside several members of Qatar’s arts community.
- Some of the Library’s events and workshops will continue to be offered online until further notice. About 24 hours before the event, a librarian will send you the link you can use to attend.
- They have a variety of events; They are free to attend, some are are for general public and some are targeted for children.
