“Response to the appeal of the country is a human and moral obligation, especially during crises,” said many people, participating in Qatar Charity’s (QC) volunteering initiative aimed at contributing to the efforts exerted by the State of Qatar to curb the spread of coronavirus (COVID-19). They also called for integrating efforts, fighting rumours, and stopping the circulation of false information, to raise awareness in society.

Iman Al Kaabi, a media figure and social media influencer, said, “Volunteering to limit the spread of coronavirus (COVID-19) reflects the national sense and responsibility of each person towards the country and society,” adding that following the precautionary instructions and measures, and staying at home at this time is a service to the country.

A volunteer Jihan Mohamed Ahn emphasised the importance of volunteering, especially during crises, adding that it is a great experience and hoping to achieve more than the required, with maintaining the quality of work and adhering to instructions and safety and security requirements.

Another volunteer Hamda Saleh Al Kaabi, said: "The experience of volunteering with Qatar Charity is very useful, and I hope to do a lot to help our country during this crisis,” calling on others to participate in the volunteering efforts of the country.

The number of volunteers with Qatar Charity has risen to more than 8,000 persons belonging to different nationalities, who are contributing to the efforts of Qatar Charity to curb the spread of coronavirus (COVID-19) by distributing multilingual awareness leaflets and personal hygiene items.

The initiative was launched to support the civil society, respond quickly to any emergency at any time, and benefit from volunteers’ capabilities for community service.
