HBJ Foundation donates two million riyals to HMC for the treatment of COVID-19 patients

Hamad Medical Corporation (HMC) has recently signed a joint cooperation agreement with Jassim and Hamad Bin Jassim Charitable Foundation (HBJ Foundation). Under the agreement, the charitable foundation will donate QAR 2 million in financial support to HMC to contribute to the treatment of COVID-19 patients who are receiving healthcare across HMC facilities.

The agreement was signed by HMC's Chief of Healthcare Facilities Hamad Nasser Al Khalifa and Board Member and CEO of Jassim and Hamad Bin Jassim Charitable Foundation Saeed Mathkar Al Hajri.

On behalf of HMC, Al Khalifa thanked Jassim and Hamad Bin Jassim Charitable Foundation for their initiative and generous contribution to the costs of treatment of COVID-19 patients. He stressed that HMC is committed to delivering effective and high-quality care to all COVID-19 patients in accordance with the highest internationally approved standards.

"This contribution will significantly support the success of our efforts to combat COVID-19 pandemic. This noble initiative of the HBJ Foundation shows how all institutions in the country are cooperating and working together to defeat the virus. It also highlights HBJ Foundations' commitment to promoting social work and supporting the development of our community as part of its social responsibility. We thank HBJ Foundation for their humanitarian role and continued support to the health sector, and especially for their constant desire to promote their partnership and cooperation with HMC to help combat the COVID-19 pandemic," added Al Khalifa.

Saeed Mathkar Al Hajri said that this initiative was based on the directives of H.E. Sheikh Hamad bin Jassim bin Jabor Al-Thani and in continuation of a series of community initiatives implemented by HBJ Foundation to combat COVID-19 pandemic. The initiative is aimed at supporting the efforts of the government and health sector organizations as they implement all necessary precautionary measures to combat the COVID-19 virus, as well as supporting HMC efforts to combat the pandemic and protect the society. He added that HBJ Foundation will continue to cooperate with HMC and contribute to covering the costs of treatment of COVID-19 patients.

HMC has also cooperated over the past period with HBJ Foundation to combat the Coronavirus pandemic, as HBJ Foundation donated QAR 2,750,000 to cover the costs of establishing a quarantine facility in the industrial area dedicated to COVID-19 patients.

HMC provides free-of-charge healthcare to all COVID-19 patients in Qatar, including citizens and expatriate residents.
