How to register 12-15 year olds for COVID-19 vaccine in Qatar

Starting from 16 May 2021, parents can register their children who are aged between 12 and 15 for the COVID-19 vaccine in Qatar. Once registered on the Ministry of Public Health website, parents will be contacted by the Primary Health Care Corporation via SMS with an appointment date and time to get their child's first dose of the COVID-19 vaccination. Children aged from 12 to 15 years are to be offered the Pfizer-BioNTech COVID-19 vaccine in Qatar.

There are two ways to register your 12-15 year old for the COVID-19 vaccine:

1. Register your child for the COVID-19 vaccine on the MoPH COVID-19 website

    • Enter your child's QID number
    • Click on "Verify".

    • Enter the OTP (One Time Password), you received on the mobile number (sponsor) under which your child's ID is registered.
    • Click on "Submit OTP".

    • If you answer "No" to all the questions, you'll be asked to select your child's designated health centre and enter your preferred dates for the 1st dose vaccination appointment***.
    • Click on "Submit Request".
      • ***Your selected health centre and date for vaccination is not guaranteed unless you have received a confirmation notification on your appointment booking.

      • If you answer "Yes" to any of the questions, a statement will pop up in orange saying "Please request an appointment with your family physician. You can go back and select "Request Appointment" eService in the eServices screen."
      • In this case, please make an appointment with your family physician to find out if your child is eligible for the 1st dose depending on the questions you answered "Yes" to.

      Please note: According to the MoPH, "there are certain situations in which precaution should be taken before taking the vaccine. In these cases, you should discuss with your healthcare provider to understand if and when you should take the vaccine."

      • You will receive a Request Number for future reference.
      • The MoPH/PHCC will record your interest to take the vaccine, and you will be contacted via SMS when your appointment has been scheduled.

      2. Call 16000 to register your child for the COVID-19 vaccine

      • Call 16000.
      • Select your desired language.
      • From the menu, select 1 for the "COVID-19 and Vaccination Enquiries".
      • From the menu, select 1 again for the "COVID-19 Vaccination Enquiries".
      • You will be connected to a customer service representative, who will ask you what your query is.
      • When you tell them, you want to register your 12-15 year old for the COVID-19 vaccine, they will send you an SMS with the MoPH link.
      • Click the link and register, using the steps given in the section above.
