In a press conference held by the Supreme Committee for Delivery & Legacy on 26 May 2022, it was announced that the Hayya Card for the FIFA World Cup Qatar 2022 will now be digitalized.
The Hayya Digital Card will allow visitors to enter the country, use free transportation, and enter stadiums with ease. As per Saeed Al Kuwari, executive director of the Hayya platform, the Hayya Digital Card is also available in the physical form and can be collected at certain collection points however, a digital Hayya Card is sufficient.
International spectators of the FIFA World Cup Qatar 2022 are required to obtain a Hayya Digital Card as it serves as the only entry permit to the host country. An approved Hayya is a prerequisite for all international visitors and Qatar nationals & residents for the duration of the tournament.
International fans entering Qatar for the tournament will be receiving a separate entry permit along with their Hayya Card which will allow them to enter Qatar starting from 1 November 2022.
Those with approved International Hayya Cards will be receiving the entry permit to their registered email addresses. The entry permit will be a PDF document which will state the entry and exit dates, along with personal details.
The Supreme Committee for Delivery & Legacy has confirmed that the last date to enter Qatar with a Hayya entry permit will be 23 December 2022 and the last date to exit will be 23 January 2023.
The entry permit will be a requirement for international visitors regardless of purpose and will be the only means to enter from 1 November 2022 till 23 December 2022.
The regulation is also applicable to GCC nationals and GCC residents.
The Hayya Digital Card will be used for secure identification and stadium access for those with FIFA match tickets as well as access to free public transportation services such as the metro, bus, and taxis.
Citizens and residents need their ticket number, Qatar Id number and date of birth details to apply for the Hayya card, while visitors need ticket number, accommodation details and personal information. Once approved, the digital version of the fan id will be available in the Hayya mobile app.
A Hayya Match Day Pass was also introduced which will be an entry permit valid for up to 48 hours from the designated arrival date. This pass will apply to all international ticket holders who reside in Qatar during the tournament. Spectators need a valid FIFA Match ticket and a valid passport for the Match Day Pass.
