The Saudi Gazette reported on 17 March 2024, an announcement by The Ministry of Hajj and Umrah, which stated that only single Umrah permits will be provided during the Holy month of Ramadan.

Permits for repeat Umrah will not be provided in order to give everyone a chance and ease overcrowding during this high peak season.

It was also mentioned that if someone attempts to apply for an Umrah permit for the second time on the Nusuk application, they will receive an error message stating, "Issuance of the permit failed".

The Ministry also urged pilgrims to comply with the allocated Umrah time slots provided, and the time cannot be changed. If the time slot is to be changed, it has to be deleted, and the permit has to be re-applied for on the Nusuk application.
