Qatar Museums presents Asma Al-Mannai: Colourful Moments at the Fire Station: Artist in Residence from 23 September to 24 October. This is the Qatari artist’s first solo exhibition encompasses a collection of passing moments and experiences depicted using different methods and mediums including drawing, painting, watercolour, and ink.
Opening hours for the Fire Station are from 9:00 am-7:00 pm Saturday through Thursdays and 1:30 pm-7:00 pm on Fridays.
Your artistic mind can rejoice now as Qatar Museums reopened the Fire Station and unveiled the special exhibition Picasso’s Studios in the Garage Gallery. The exhibition features 108 extraordinary artworks by Pablo Picasso selected from the unparalleled collection of the Musée national Picasso in Paris, including paintings, sculptures, drawings, prints, and ceramics. On view through November 1, 2020, the innovative exhibition traces the evolution of Picasso’s epoch-making art by presenting it in eight distinct galleries, representing the series of studios where he worked throughout his career. Tasweer, a new photography festival based in Qatar, announced the open call for its inaugural Sheikh Saoud Al Thani Project and Single Image Awards. These annual, open call awards are intended to recognize and support photographers from Western Asia and North Africa.

The National Museum of Qatar (NMoQ) will reopen its permanent galleries and unveil the landmark exhibition, Splendours of the Ancient East: Antiquities from The al-Sabah Collection, in its Temporary Exhibition Gallery. Drawn from the extraordinary holdings assembled in Kuwait by Sheikh Nasser Sabah al-Ahmad al-Sabah and Sheikha Hussa Sabah al-Salem al-Sabah, more than 170 objects provide a sweeping overview of the artistic and material culture of the ancient world, while also revealing new insights into the roots of Islamic art.
The Museum of Islamic Arts has opened an exhibition entitled "A Falcon's Eye: Tribute To Sheikh Saoud Al-Thani". The exhibition showcases more than 300 outstanding artworks from prehistoric fossils and Egyptian antiquities to Orientalist paintings and masterpieces of the history of photography in a spectacular display following the concept of ancient (Renaissance) “cabinet of curiosities” reflecting Sheikh Saoud’s fascination with both natural history and the art world.
