According to a report by The Peninsula, FIFA has released its preliminary list of Asia's referees for the FIFA World Cup 2026 which includes two distinguished Qatari match officials.
As per The Peninsula, Abdulrahman Al-Jassim and Salman Falahi were among those named on the list.
Abdulrahman Al-Jassim was the first Qatari referee to officiate a World Cup match during the FIFA World Cup Qatar 2022. His World Cup debut was during the USA vs Wales Group B match at the Ahmad bin Ali Stadium on 21 November 2022.
Salman Falahi was part of a Qatari refereeing team at the FIFA U-20 World Cup in Indonesia which took place from 20 May to 11 June 2023.
The FIFA World Cup 2026 will be hosted by three countries, the USA, Canada, and Mexico from 11 June to 19 July 2026.
