South Korea faced Bahrain in the Group E opening match of the AFC Asian Cup Qatar 2023™. This was the first match scheduled on 15 January 2024, and the kick-off occurred at 2:30 pm.
South Korea took the lead in the first half, with their player Hwang In-beom scoring the team's first goal.
Abdullah Al Hashash scored the equalizer for Bahrain in the 51st minute.
Lee Kang-in scored the second and the third for South Korea in the 56th minute and 68th minute, respectively, taking his team to the lead. The final score was 3-1 in favor of South Korea.
The other matches scheduled on 15 January 2024 will occur between Indonesia and Iraq at 5:30 pm at Ahmad bin Ali Stadium, followed by the match between Malaysia and Jordan at Al Janoub Stadium at 8:30 pm.
