Iraq faced Japan in the second round of the Group D AFC Asian Cup Qatar 2023™ match on 19 January 2024. The kick-off took place at 2:30 pm at Education City Stadium.

The first goal for Iraq was scored by Ayman Hussein in the fifth minute, followed by the second goal at the 45+4 minutes.

Team Japan reduces the gap as player Wataru Endo scores in the 90th minute + 3.

The other matches scheduled for 19 January 2024 are:

• Vietnam vs Indonesia: 5:30 pm, Abdullah Bin Khalifa Stadium
• Hong Kong vs Iran: 8:30 pm, Khalifa International Stadium
