Australia faced India in the second match of the AFC Asian Cup Qatar 2023™ on 13 January 2024. The kick-off of the first match in Group B took place at 2:30 pm at Qatar's Ahmad Bin Ali Stadium.
The first half ended in a goalless draw between the teams but Australia's Jackson Irvine scored the first goal of the match in the 51st minute. Jordan Bos scored a second goal for Australia in the 71st minute.
The match was played for 95 minutes, with Australia beating India with a score of 2-0 in the opening Group B match of AFC Asian Cup Qatar 2023™
The other matches scheduled for 13 January 2024 are China versus Tajikistan at 5:30 pm, being played at Abdullah Bin Khalifa Stadium, followed by Uzbekistan versus Syria at 8:30 pm being played at Jassim Bin Hamad Stadium.
