The Ministry of Public Health has announced its official sponsorship of the 2nd edition of the Qatar International Medical Devices & Healthcare Exhibition and Conferences (QMED), which being organized by Sogha Exhibitions and Conferences from 24-26 March 2019 at the Qatar National Convention Center (QNCC), with an expected participations of over 100 local and international companies.

“The support of the Ministry of Health to QMED reflects the Ministry’s strong commitment to the health sector which is regarded as the pivot of social development,” said Mr. Ali Abdulla Al Khater, Chief Communications Officer and Chair of the Healthcare Communications Committee. “The sponsorship of the Ministry comes from its keennQMess to familiarize itself with all that is new in the field of medicine and to communicate with those interested in healthcare and medical devices.”

He pointed out the desire of Ministry of Health to open channels of communication between different players in the health sector, as part of its goal to upgrade the health sector as well as create a networking platform.”

He stressed that the Ministry of Health is keen to support all initiatives aimed at achieving further development in the health sector.

He also expressed the hope that the Qatar International Medical Devices & Healthcare Exhibition will enhance the benefit offered to medical equipment manufacturers by providing them with a wide range of opportunities.

“QMED 2019 will provide an ideal platform which allows participants to exchange experiences and knowledge; communicate to build efficient partnership and discuss the promising business opportunities. The show will highlight the latest technologies and medical solutions and strengthen the Ministry of Public Health plans to raise the level of healthcare in Qatar in line with the National Health Strategy and Qatar National Vision 2030,” he said.

Mr. Khalifa Al Mohannadi, Manager of Sogha Exhibitions and Conferences, hailed the Official support extended by the Ministry of Health to serve health and social issues in the country, and added that it is a critical factor in the long-term success of this international event.

Al Mohannadi said that QMED display area is around 5,000 square meters, with participation of more than 100 local and international companies and institutions, including prominent leaders in the development and provision of medical equipment, hospital supplies and medical laboratories.

He stressed that the developments over the past years in various sectors in Qatar, especially in the health sector, was the catalyst for holding this important event, since Qatar is one of the most advanced providers of health services in the Gulf region.

“We have faith that the event will be undoubtedly a shove to support the development of the Qatari healthcare sector in the frame of the relentless efforts by the Qatari Government to improve the quality of health services in Qatar. We call the competent companies to offer healthcare services and all the investors and those concerned with the health sector in Qatar to benefit from this exclusive opportunity that allows them to directly communicate and interact with healthcare leaders in the region and worldwide,” Al Mohannadi said.

QMED has generated a wide interest in a cross-section of global and local industry medical institutions and health agencies. The exhibition will include 10 key sections including medical supplies industry, educational medicine sector and medical tourism. This is in addition to dedicated exhibition sections for diabetes and dental field, critical health issues in Qatar and the Gulf region.

QMED is a great opportunity to meet key players from the health sectors of the region, as well as specialists from all over the world, thus creating a healthy competitive atmosphere between the companies presenting major advances in the development of medical devices and healthcare services, as well as contributing to raising general health awareness in the community.
