The Hamad Medical Corporation recently witnessed the birth of quintuplets by Caesarean section. In a rare case among the nationals, a 25-year-old Qatari woman gave birth to four boys and a girl. The babies are under monitoring at the Neonatal Intensive Care Unit at Women’s Hospital by a multi-disciplinary medical team. As a gesture of his respect, appreciation and love for the Emir H H Sheikh Hamad bin Khalifa Al Thani and the royal family, Mohamed Ali Al Marri, the babies’ father, has named three of the boys Hamad, Tamim and Joaan, and the girl Al Mayassa. The fourth boy is named after his father — Ali. “I dedicate my happiness and jubilation of having these five twins to the Emir and to his spouse H H Sheikha Mozah bint Nasser Al Missned,” said Al Marri. “May Almighty Allah grant them health and all happiness. I will bring up my children to be loving and devoted to the generous and beloved land of Qatar,” he said, adding that he hoped his offspring would be virtuous and patriotic. http://thepeninsulaqatar.com/Display_news.asp?section=Local%5FNews&subsection=Qatar+News&month=March2009&file=Local_News2009033152810.xml
