Why the 17th edition of Heya 2020 is unique and special!

Heya is the perfect hub for fashion lovers to view the latest collections of local and international brands. The exhibition attracts thousands of visitors through its daily fashion shows, activations, forums and hands-on workshops.

Why is the 17th edition of Heya special?

The 17th Edition of the Heya Arabian Fashion Exhibition is all set to welcome you at the Doha Exhibition and Convention Center (DECC) from 27 November and 1 December 2020. Held under the patronage of Her Excellency, Sheikha Al Mayassa bint Hamad Al Thani, this yearly exhibition has been organised by the Qatar Business Events Corporation (QBEC) which is a subsidiary of QNTC. Heya is the longest-running exhibition in Qatar.

Heya showcases the latest in Arabian and modest fashion with the participation of local and international brands, and has been held every year for the last 16 years; this edition will be its 17th.

Heya is the only fashion exhibition that has taken place in 2020.

As a result of the COVID-19 pandemic, all events and exhibitions around the world, and in Qatar have been postponed. Heya 2020 is the only fashion exhibition that will be taking place in Qatar this year with all the COVID-19 related precautionary and preventive measures in place.

Heya is showcasing over 150 mostly local designers and entrepreneurs this year.

This year’s Heya on is focussing on highlighting Qatar’s home-grown talent with over 150 exhibitors that include local designers and entrepreneurs along with two Kuwaiti designers - Tahani Alotabi and Basayel Style. The returning local brands include Almotahajiba, Harlienz, Hamadis, 1309 studios and Terzi, among others.

At Heya this year, you'll be able to check out some very unique collections, from high-street apparel, haute couture and luxury, to the latest modest evening gowns. There are also some rich programmes for you to enjoy which include 10 talk shows, four fashion shows, ten talk shows, and a workshop during the 5-days the exhibition is running. The fashion collections on display are to die for! There's a wide variety of fashion brands to choose from, especially when it comes to abayas. There are lots of unique styles, stylish designs and different colours to choose from. You'll be spoiled for choice!

Heya is highlighting sustainable fashion.

In line with Qatar's sustainability goals, Heya, this year is putting the highlight on sustainable fashion. The Virginia Commonwealth University - Qatar has a sustainable fashion section, and you'll be able to get to know more about it on Sunday 29 November (7 pm) when Kim Wyatt (Mama Baba Ganoush) and Sakala A. Debrass speech with VCUart-Q's fashion department faculty Sonali Raman abut whether sustainable and luxury fashion go together.

Heya has a new logo and identity.

Heya 2020 will take off with a new logo and identity and will be a unique experience especially since this year, there is more participation from the local Qatar brands.

Heya is showcasing a perfume dispenser for the very first time in Qatar.

Yes, you read that right! There's a unique perfume dispenser by Nahawand located at the Heya venue and it's amazing. Nahawand was established in 2019, and within a year has carved a niche for itself thanks to Sharifa Al-Sai's vision and her knack for doing things differently. Not only is the perfume dispenser a unique concept, especially here in Qatar, the perfumes themself are exquisite and have unique scents that will leave a mark wherever you leave them!

You can register for Heya online.

So, Heya can manage visitor traffic more effectively, you must register at https://app.contactless.io/public/workspaces/qbec/events/heya/forms/vis before you visit the event. After confirmation, you'll receive a QR that will be valid for all the five days of the event. You must show the code at the entrance each time you visit.

If you haven't registered before visiting, you can still register at the event in the foyer area.

Heya is open for women only; except on the opening day (27 November) when men can accompany their families. Children below the age of the 13 are not permitted to enter the exhibition at any time.
