The Meteorology Department has forecast a gradual rise in temperature, probably reaching 47 degrees Celsius during peak hours over the weekend. The maximum temperature recorded in Doha yesterday was 44 degrees Celsius, which could rise by one degree today. “Analysis indicates a gradual rise in temperature, reaching up to the mid-40s (43-47) which is the normal levels in this time of the year. Therefore, this weekend is expected to be hotter,” the department said yesterday. According to a weather forecast issued by the department, today would be “very hot with slight dust at places during the day.” Temperature would hover between 35 and 45 degrees. Northwesterly winds would blow at speeds ranging from 10 knots to 20 knots during the day, becoming southwesterly by night. The department has advised the public to take extra caution against the rising temperature. http://thepeninsulaqatar.com/qatar/242942-weekend-to-be-hotter-with-47-degrees.html
