Vodafone Qatar announced yesterday it has opened outlets in two of Qatar’s leading supermarket and hypermarket chains, Al Meera and Carrefour, further expanding its distribution network. This follows the openings of Vodafone’s retail stores and outlets at the Landmark mall, Villaggio mall, LuLu Hypermarket, Musherib and Doha Bank. Customers can now join Vodafone and choose one of Vodafone’s Flexi plans and set up a Freedom account at the following eight Al Meera and three Carrefour store locations: (Al Meera) South Khalifa, North Khalifa, Al Mansoura, Al Markhiya, Bin Omran, Al Khor, Al Wakra, Azgawa; and (Carrefour) Landmark, Villaggio and the City Centre. “For the first time customers in Qatar can connect to a telecom operator in both Al Meera and Carrefour stores. Vodafone’s aim is to open up as many distribution outlets that allow customers to connect to Vodafone at stores they want when they want to,” said Daniel Horan, Vodafone’s Director for Consumer Business Unit. Horan said Vodafone will announce more store openings over the coming weeks, in many other locations across Qatar. http://thepeninsulaqatar.com/Display_news.asp?section=Local_News&subsection=Qatar+News&month=July2009&file=Local_News2009072015328.xml
