Vodafone launches iPhone 3G in Qatar

Vodafone has announced the launch of the iPhone 3G with 8GB of memory, declaring that customer need to “hurry up” as “stocks are limited.” “The iPhone has transformed how people use mobile data services such as surfing the internet, checking e-mails, social networking and much more,” claimed a spokesperson. “For optimum use of their iPhone, customers can take advantage of the fantastic Vodafone promotion that’s currently running. From now until the end of September, Vodafone customers will receive 300MB worth of free mobile internet to browse the internet using their mobile phones.” Director of consumer business unit at Vodafone Qatar, Daniel Horan said: “We are thrilled to be able to bring the iPhone to customers. The iPhone is more than just a phone. It combines three devices in one: a revolutionary mobile phone, a widescreen iPod, and a breakthrough Internet device.” The iPhone retails at QR2,600 and is available at various Vodafone stores throughout Qatar, and the spokesperson added: “Vodafone will also be bringing the new iPhone 3GS 16GB and iPhone 3GS 32 GB soon, so stay tuned!” Separately, Vodafone also announced that first time customers can join Vodafone by registering their Doha Bank account details, allowing customer to set up a Vodafone Freedom account and choosing one of the Vodafone Flexi plans. “Freedom is the new, easy and convenient monthly way to pay for Vodafone’s plans and products. A Freedom account will get paid automatically from a customer’s Doha Bank account, so a customer never needs to worry about getting disconnected,” explained a spokesperson. Horan said: “I am very pleased to be able to offer Doha Bank customers the ability to join Vodafone using their Doha Bank accounts. This gives our customers yet more easy and convenient options to pay for all Vodafone’s plans and products.” AGM for retail banking at Doha Bank, Louis Scotto stated: “We are glad to introduce this exciting offer to our customers, which compliments our initiatives in providing more convenience at all times, especially with having Vodafone kiosks located in some of our branches.
