A two-day United Nations of Comedy will kick off today at Qatar National Convention Centre (QNCC). The show will be hosted by Qatar’s well-known media personality Khalifa Al Haroon, said Studio.ADabisc, organisers of the event. The show has brought four major international comedy stars to wow audiences in Doha with their uproarious views on the funniest things in the East, West and everywhere in between, a press release said yesterday. The stand-up comedians include Maz Jobrani, Aron Kader, Nemr Abou Nassar, Mike Batayeh and local comedian Mohammad Kamal. Hamzeh Zahr, Head of Entertainment Production at ADabisc said: “The United Nations of Comedy is a family-orientated seriously funny comedy, with a unique experience based on workings of the actual United Nations forum. “A show of this nature is exclusive to Qatar and we can promise that it will deliver a superior entertainment experience on every level. Bringing together A-list comedians from around the world is a first-of-its-kind concept for Qatar and ADabisc was totally up to the challenge,” Zahr said. “It is my fourth time here and I’m proud to be here. I would like everyone to come watch the show,” Nassar said. Kamal said: “I have been the first Qatari comedian for three years. I started in Star productions and my mission is to empower local talents and show all people foreign who live in Qatar that we can entertain.” Main sponsors for the show include Nandos, Samsung, Grand Hyatt Doha, Star Productions, Time Out Doha and iloveQatar.net are partnering ADabisc with OSN joining in as official TV partner. http://thepeninsulaqatar.com/qatar/229047-united-nations-of-comedy-to-wow-doha-today.html
