The Public Works Authority ‘Ashghal’ announced that a traffic diversion will be in place on part of Street 1 in the Industrial Area from Roundabout 1, where Al Wakalat Street meets Street 1, until Roundabout 2, where Al Kassarat Street meets Street 1.
The traffic diversion starts on Saturday 19 December and lasts for 6 months. During this period, one lane will be open to traffic in the direction towards Roundabout 2, and two lanes will be open in the opposite direction. Also one lane will be open heading west on the other side of the street as shown in the attached map.
Ashghal will open two U-turns for those coming from Roundabout 1 towards Roundabout 2, in addition to providing access roads to and from the local area north of Street 1 as shown in the map.
The project aims to increase the capacity of roads and support the traffic flow, in addition to providing the area with integral infrastructure.
Ashghal apologises for any inconvenience, and urges all road users to abide by speed limits and traffic signs to ensure their safety.
