Al Raya newspaper reported on 8 August 2022 that the development and refurbishment of the Theater Park along Corniche Road has been completed by The Public Works Authority - Ashghal.

The rehabilitation was required as it was affected by the Doha Corniche development project, especially the Al Bidda Tunnel.

The park got its name as it is located adjacent to the Qatar National Theater. The park links between the Eastern side of Corniche Street via the Al Bidda Tunnel which also connects to the metro station and Majlis Al Taawon Street.

There are three main parts to the park which are; entertainment, sports and green areas.

It was reported that the entertainment area is facilitated with seating areas, restaurants and kiosks serving food & drinks, while the sports activities area is installed with equipment and recycled rubber paths for pedestrians, runners, and cycles. The green area provides shaded areas and unshaded areas and also has green hills for the overall aesthetic.

The park spans 108,000 square metres; out of which the lawn covers almost 64,000 square metres. A total of 850 trees have been planted which are of 16 different types, local and international. The sports areas cover 880 square meters, the walking paths are 1000 meters in length and 850 meters in length of bicycle paths.

Disability accessibility is also accommodated at that park.
