The Emir H H Sheikh Hamad bin Khalifa Al Thani will witness on Thursday the signing of a peace agreement between the Sudanese government and the Liberation and Justice Movement, the Minister of State for Foreign Affairs H E Ahmed bin Abdullah Al Mahmoud told Qatar News Agency (QNA). Al Mahmoud said that the signing ceremony will be attended by Sudan’s President Omar Hassan Ahmed Al Bashir and a number of heads of states of neighbouring countries of Sudan. It will also be attended by the African Union, the United Nations, the Arab League and the Organisation of Islamic Cooperation and regional and international partners. The signing of the peace agreement between the Sudanese government and the Liberation and Justice Movement is based on the Doha document on Darfur Peace which was approved by All Darfur Stakeholders Conference and received regional and international support from organisations such as the Arab League, the African Union, the Organisation of Islamic Cooperation, the United Nations, and the UN Security Council.
