The Event Management Program students of Stenden University Qatar hosted the corporate social
awareness event for Best Buddies Qatar, a nonprofit organization dedicated to enhance lives of people
with intellectual challenges by providing opportunities for one-to-one friendships and integrated
employment, established in 2008 as a special project of Her Highness Sheikha Moza Bint Nasir and
a partner to the Shafallah Center for Children with Special Needs. Stenden University, staff and
students, is supporting Best Buddies as their Corporate Social Responsibility project committed to
support the community in Qatar.
“Together We Care” aimed to integrate individuals with challenges into the community and facilitate
the improvement of their social skills and relationship in the society of Qatar.
The event took place in Aspire Dome on 3rd of February 2013, Sunday, from 09.00 am until 12.00
pm. The activities were: artworks, Café Ceramic, face painting, henna artwork and many others.
The sponsors of the event are: Stenden University Qatar, Best Buddies Qatar, Aspire, Qatar Diabetes
Association, Café Ceramic, Rawaj Creativity and the Supreme Council of Health.
Event Management Program is a minor offered within the 4 year Bachelor of Business Administration
degree programs with majors in International Business, Tourism and Hospitality Management as a part
of the studies at Stenden University Qatar. Students are given the opportunity to gain the theoretical
and practical knowledge of planning and hosting events with industry stakeholders, to gain the
necessary experience and skills to further their careers within the Corporate, Hospitality and Social
fields of work.
