This week’s startup focuses on a company that created an innovative device to help resolve back issues!

According to statistics, 8 out of 10 people around the world experience, or will experience, back problems. People usually don’t pay much attention to how they sit and tend to overlook the impact this would have on their spine.

Fine Posture is a smart wearable device that provides an effective solution to improve one’s health, lifestyle, and posture. This new revolutionary device has a sensor that measures the angles of the body. It can be attached to your clothes and can also be worn as a necklace. Whenever the person wearing the device is slouching and it senses the change of body angle, the device will set off an alarm for the person to change their posture.

The company was incubated by the Qatar Business Incubation Center (QBIC). Fine Posture was founded by Jabir Al-Sulaiti and Arameh Eyvazian.

“Currently the beta version of product is ready and we manage to finish designing phase,” a spokesperson said. “Our current version of device is functioning very well and we tested the device with medical professionals as well as patients. The feedback from them was surprisingly very positive. We are planning to modify our current design for mass production.”

Fine Posture is still looking to expand its team and begin selling its products in the fall.
