Stage set for QatarDebate tournaments

QatarDebate is in the final phase of preparations to host Qatar Universities Debate League’s 1st Tournament (QUDL) on October 10 at Weill Cornell Medical College in Qatar in Education City. QatarDebate, a civic engagement initiative aimed at raising and promoting the standards of open discussion and debate, has grown to include students from local and international Qatar-campus universities. On a school level, QatarDebate, a Qatar Foundation initiative, is also hosting Qatar Schools Debate League’s 1st Tournament (QSDL), in parallel. Featuring the commencement of the new academic year, the school tournament, scheduled to be held on October 17 at the Doha Independent School for Boys, is attracting a number of students of different schools and age groups. QatarDebate has set a pre-event transition training modules, including public speaking skills, state-of-the-art debating and advocacy techniques.
