Employees of Sharq Village and Spa donated clothing and other essential items to the Qatar Charity Fund as part of the Community Footprints Programme of The Ritz-Carlton Hotel Company. Between March and June this year, the 368 staff gathered over 50 bags of clothing and shoes to support the charity, whose activities cover more than 40 countries in Africa, Asia and Europe. It provides aid to local communities, in particular to orphans, families without income and victims of unforeseen circumstances. Established in 1992, the charity is described as one of the largest charitable non-governmental organisations in Qatar. “At the Ritz-Carlton, we see corporate social responsibility as a core part of our business,” Sharq general manager Hossein Vetry said. Sharq Village and Spa is managed by The Ritz-Carlton Hotel Company. GT
