An impressive turnout of visitors was witnessed at Ezdan Mall on its much anticipated inaugural day. Prior to the public opening at 12 pm, an unprecedented event took place where over 100 trainees from ‘Shafallah Centre for children with special needs’ participated hand in hand with Ezdan Mall’s management for the unique and family-friendly shopping mall’s inauguration. Recitation of the Holy Quran prior to the ribbon-cutting, manifested commencement of the ceremony. The trainees from Shafallah Center expressed their immense enthusiasm to be present at this momentous event and unveiled a plaque commemorating the formal opening of Ezdan Mall. A brilliant symphony was played by the Shafallah Orchestra that captivated the audience. Ezdan Mall GM - Mr. Malik Awan also articulated his pleasure at the presence of the members from the Shafallah Community, “We are honored to have shared this significant day with Shafallah Center and are awed by the children’s skills.” A guided tour of the mall, brought to light the impressive contemporary architecture and layout which consents each of the outlets a brilliant allocation. Throughout the day, Shafallah trainees conducted with zeal and fervor, workshops on crafts and the art of aesthetic wrapping and packaging. They were endowed with special gifts as a token of appreciation by a number of mall tenants. The Ezdan Mall announced their plan for starting “22 Million Trees by 2022” - a tree plantation project for a greener Qatar, in-line with their community centered vision. Through this initiative, Ezdan Mall aspires to inculcate in the residents of Qatar, the desire for healthy living and care for the environment. It will be a springboard for a greener culture across Qatar, also supporting the National Vision leading upto 2022. This community-based project aims at planting 22 million trees throughout Qatar, the first of which was planted by Mr. Ali al Obeidly, Group CEO – Ezdan Holding and Mr.Abdel-Rahman Al Haji, a Shafallah trainee. Hundreds of free saplings were given away to the guests at the inauguration. A special kiosk’s allotment for Shafallah Centre was announced, wherein creative art pieces by the Shafallah children shall be displayed and be available for sale. A placement program that would award jobs to young graduates of the center was also announced during the ceremony. Excitement reigns high as anticipation for 60 new brands grows amid consumers in Qatar. Brands like NewYorker, Johnny Rockets, iSpot, Altinbas, Riva, Maghrabi are the first of the many brands that are gearing up for opening in the month of May. “A central location, an enormous assortment of fashion brands, coupled with a wide range of eateries and café offers Ezdan Mall the leverage to become ‘a social place for the family’ to meet-greet-and-shop in Qatar.” added Mr. Awan. - ILQ News -
