The Qatar Meteorology Department (QMD) on 5 December 2022 announced that it is expected that Qatar will be affected by a rainy state of varying intensity at intermittent intervals from 7 December until 10 December 2022, which may turn thundery at times.
The winds are mainly Southeasterly - Northeasterly, with speeds ranging between 6-16 KT, with gusts exceeding 25 KT with thundery rain.

It is also expected that the winds will shift to Northwesterly on 10 December 2022 and will continue until the middle of the week, accompanied by a noticeable decrease in temperatures with an increase in the feeling of coldness, especially during the night and early morning hours, as the maximum temperatures are expected to range between 19-26 degrees Celsius and the minimum between 15-24 degrees Celsius, and less than that in the southern and outer areas.
It is worth noting that this period coincides with the entry of Al-Marb'aannyeh, which indicates the beginning of the severity of winter and lasts about 40 days.
The Meteorology department called on everyone to receive the information from its official sources and not to be led by rumours and unofficial social media accounts.
