Qatar Telecom (Qtel) yesterday opened its 20th store and sixth concept store at Al Khor, developed at an estimated cost of QR20m. The service centre will offer its usual services, a wide range of consumer landline, mobile, broadband and entertainment services, including BlackBerry solutions and Enterprise hosting. “Qtel is pleased and proud to open this major new facility at the heart of Al Khor. The people in this area have asked us to provide a new service centre, and this Concept Store will provide the highest quality of service and delivery,” said H.E. Sheikh Abdulla bin Mohammed bin Saud Al Thani, chairman of Qtel, who officially opened the centre together with Musnad Bin Saad Almusnad, a senior representative of the local community in Al Khor. “Qtel fully understands the importance of our responsibilities to the people of Qatar for ensuring they have convenient access to a full range of communication services and that it is easy for them to make payments and access information. In addition, we believe that these stores can play a beneficial role in the local community, offering opportunities for employment for Qatari nationals, providing a place for our customers to meet, and acting as an educational resource, so that young people can learn more about the technology of tomorrow,” said Al Thani. Qtel is confident that the new concept store will provide strategic support for the master-plan to enhance Al Khor through a series of major refurbishments and civic upgrades. Advanced business services will enable local companies to benefit from the latest developments in communication solutions, while the wide range of consumer services will provide residents with a full portfolio of options. In line with Qtel’s strategy to position the concept stores as community resources as well as service centers, the Al Khor concept store has a range of recreational, children’s entertainment and hospitality facilities. “By opening this Concept Store in Al Khor, we are living up to our commitment to provide the highest standards of service and delivery across Qatar,” said Al Thani. The Al Khor Qtel concept store covers a total area of more than 1,000 sq. metres, and offers two floors of advanced entertainment and innovation. Dedicated areas cover specific services for Qatar residents, including special areas for high-speed Internet access, mobile Broadband, residential landlines, Mozaic TV+ services and a wide range of mobile communications offerings. It even hosts a gallery, displaying some of the latest mobile devices available in the region. http://thepeninsulaqatar.com/Display_news.asp?section=Local%5FNews&subsection=Qatar+News&month=April2009&file=Local_News2009043063645.xml
