Qatar Tourism Authority (QTA) will lead the Qatar delegation at ITB Berlin, one of the most important annual tourism events in Europe, from 6-10 March 2013. QTA will host the new state of the art Qatar Pavilion with a design and features that reflects QTA’s new vision to promote and develop the tourism industry in Qatar as reported by Qatar Chronicle. QTA will use the event to outline the major development of tourism infrastructure that is taking place in Doha and highlight the latest buoyant tourist statistics in the 2012 Annual Report. These show that Qatar has made great strides in attracting more regional and overseas tourists to the country. With the opening of several major hotels and many more under construction, Qatar is ready to welcome the world to its shores. QTA has also staged cultural festivals and supported several international business events and sports fixtures to underline the country’s appeal. With continental Europe a key export market for tourism, QTA is aiming to replicate its success with business and sports tourism in other fields such as Leisure, Urban (entertainment and shopping) and Sun and Beach tourism.
