QSports, Qatar's premier organizer of social and recreational sporting leagues and tournaments will see its first full season of sports come to an exciting end this weekend. The finals of basketball, volleyball, Indoor football and 11-a-side Football will witness season 1's top teams compete for the top spot in their respective sport.
The general public is invited to the QSports Grand Finals which will take place this Friday between 16:00 and 20:00 at Al Wakra Sports Stadium. Special short competitions for the spectators and plenty of giveaways from our corporate sponsors.
The leagues, sponsored by Go Sports, Iloveqatar.net, Fitness First and the Qatar Olympic Committee had active participation from over 900 athletes in season 1. "QSports promises an even bigger and better season 2 as more than 50 teams in various sports have already registered for season 2, due to start in March 2012." says Ghanim Al Mohannadi, CEO of QSports.
Spectators will be able to watch semi-final and final matches for a variety of sports that we have run this season including indoor soccer, volleyball, basketball and outdoor soccer. As part of grand finale, QSports will also introduce Qatar's first ever All Star Expat Women's Football Team, managed and coached by QSports. The team is expected to play several friendlies with the Qatari National Team and hopes to play in the QSL Women's football league.
QSports, with its rapidly growing active member base of 2,000 members, has big plans for the near future and hopes to fulfil its national duty to promote active sports participation in Qatar.
