QRCS lays cornerstone for two huge projects in Kyrgyzstan

Qatar Charity (QRCS) has laid the cornerstone for two large projects in Kyrgyzstan: integrated orphan village and a multi-service complex, benefiting more than 18,000 people, at a total cost of around QR 3 million.

The cornerstone-aying Ceremony was attended by Charge d'Affaires of Qatar's Embassy to Kyrgyzstan Adel Ahmad Al Anzi and a number of local officials including Director of the branch of Qatar Charity in Bishkek Osama Al Turabi.

The two projects aim to provide integrated community services in various sectors, contribute to improving the living, environmental and social conditions of poor families, as well as contribute to the development of appropriate social protection systems so that they can reduce their vulnerability to economic and social crises.

The complex includes a number of facilities that provide integrated social services to the orphans and poor families in Kyrgyzstan. The total cost of the center is estimated at QR 1,000,000. It will be built on an area of about 1045 square meter, it includes a primary school with 5 classrooms for 250 students, in addition to a health center that provides health services to the residents of the area and surrounding areas, and is expected to benefit between 5,000 to 10,000 people, the complex also includes a sewing workshop and a well with Water tank, in addition to a mosque.

This complex will contribute significantly to ensuring quality education and promote opportunities for students of both sexes to complete their studying, spreading cultural awareness among the residents of the complex, as well as empowering economically poor families and keeping them out of need in a way that preserves their dignity, improving public health standards and achieving development, in addition to contributing to the reduction of morbidity and mortality from unsafe water in this area.

Qatar Charity's orphans' residential village consists of 30 fully furnished houses benefiting 30 needy families, at a total cost of QR 1,915,000.
