The Ministry of Municipality and Environment said Wednesday that a total of approximately 770 tons of local agricultural products sold in June. The selling was done through two main programs, "Outstanding Product" and "Qatar Farms." The former sold 199 tons, while the latter sold 570.5 tons sold by the latter. The ministry said the two programs focus on improving the marketing of local produce by driving up demand and improving the income generated by the Qatari farmer. The ministry also said that the programs help boost investment in the agricultural field, by providing a variety of produce in hypermarkets throughout the year. The Ministry of Municipality and Environment along with the Ministry of Commerce and Industry oversee programs to market local produce.
