Qatari and Tajik Governments Sign Diar-Dushanbe Project Agreement

Doha, August 26 (QNA) - Qatari Diar Real Estate Investment Company (Qatari Diar) today announced a joint agreement signed in the Tajik capital of Dushanbe between the Government of the State of Qatar and the Tajik government to start building a residential, commercial and recreational complex in Tajikistan''s capital city of Dushanbe under the name "Diar-Dushanbe. " A press statement by the company said the agreement was signed for the Qatari side by HE the Minister of State for International Cooperation Dr. Khalid bin Mohamed Al-Attiyah, in the presence of Qatari Diar Chief Executive Officer Mohamed bin Ali Al-Hadfa, and for the the Republic of Tajikistan by Minister of Investment Ali Saidov. The statement added that the signing comes after the Qatari Diar made many preparations and negotiation phases signaling the beginning of this project, which will support the Qatari-Tajik relations and cooperation between the two countries. Engineer Mohammed bin Ali Al-Hadfa said in remakes contained in the statement: "We are delighted that the "Diar-Dushanbe" project will be the first project for Qatari Diar in Central Asia, saying the singing of the agreement will contribute to the support of the Tajik economy, will enhance relations between the two countries and will also diversify and increase Diar''s international projects''''. "We see great potential in this country, and our "Diar-Dushanbe" will be the beginning of a new investments which will flourish the local market in Tajikistan and will support the economy and the community, adding that the project will be an attracting point for investment from other countries, and will convey our long experience and our own work touches with global standards that we will reflect on this prestigious project," Engineer Al-Hadfa said. He explained that when Diar starts a project in a new country, it enters into a commitment with everyone in that country to leave behind a cultural and environmental fingerprints and a positive sustainable development, emphasizing that the vision of the State of Qatar through which it seeks to build good relations with everyone, and to adhere to traditions, culture, society and family, is a basic pillar in any project developed by Qatari Diar. The "Diar-Dushanbe" integrated project, which is 100% owned by Qatari Diar Real Estate Investment Company, will be built over an area of 68 thousand square metres on the waterfront scenery along the street ''Nizami Kanjawi'', overlooking Lake Komsomol and is scheduled for completion in 2014. The multi-uses project will include five buildings, luxury residential buildings, three office buildings, parks, shops in addition to a five-star hotel, sports facilities, a shopping centre and leisure facilities, gardens and vast yards overlooking the waterfront. The will be built according to a blueprint based on an innovative idea maintaining harmony with the local and surrounding environment, and most importantly, accommodating the expected future growth of the already large city of Dushanbe.
