Aligned with Qatar National Vision (QNV 2030) and as part of giving back to the community under the pillar of human development, Qatar Toastmasters (QTM) is proud to announce the 19th Qatar Open - Youth Public Speaking Championship. The contest serves as a platform for showcasing the skills of youth in Qatar in their quest to be great leaders and communicators.

Qatar Toastmasters is a pioneer toastmasters club in Qatar, affiliated with Toastmasters International, a leading global non-profit educational organization whose mission is to help men, women and children develop their communication and leadership skills.

Qatar Toastmasters president, TM Krishnamoorthy said, “Our theme at Qatar Toastmasters this year is Together, we can…, which shows that we believe in the value of sharing experience and knowledge. We believe that there is no better investment than investing in our future leaders. Holding the contest for 19 consecutive years shows our commitment and dedication to this remarkable community initiative.”

TM Azeez Mohammed, the chief coordinator of Qatar Open 2016 said, “Qatar Open is one of the most anticipated and admired annual event of its kind among the entire student community in Qatar. Over the years it has seen growing interest and participation from students, academics and local community.”

The contest will be held in the first half of 2016 and is spread over three rounds. Preliminaries and Semi-finals will be held in Birla Public School on 25th March and 15th April respectively, while the Grand Finale is scheduled to be held on 6th May at Radisson Blu hotel. The contest is open to young adults in the age group of 13 to 18 years. Students can now register through QTM website www.qatartoastmasters.org. We encourage early registration because the contest is limited to 120 entries and the last day for registration is 17th February 2016.

To equip participants with needed skills and to provide them with clear guidance, Qatar Toastmasters will be holding a workshop for all registered candidates on 26th February 2016. During the workshop, experienced toastmasters will be presenting educational modules and students will be provided with relevant materials for their reference. A special workshop is being arranged for students from independent schools in appreciation of their enthusiastic involvement and participation in the contest.

Qatar Toastmasters look forward to overwhelming participation from the youth of Qatar and another successful edition of Qatar Open Youth Public Championship 2016.
