According to the latest figures from the Statistics Authority, the population of Qatar has reached 1,597,552 based on data collected on August 31, 2009. The figure, which was posted on the Statistics Authority’s website, includes both nationals and expatriates in Qatar. The statistics did not take into account the nationals who were outside the country at the time.
