Qatar france launch joint humanitarian aid initiative gaza

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs (MoFA) announced on 27 February 2024 that Qatar and France launched an initiative to cooperate in delivering Humanitarian Aid to Gaza.

The aid initiative was implemented on the sidelines of H.H. the Amir Sheikh Tamim's visit to the French Republic.

This initiative aims to alleviate the suffering of the Palestinian people in the Gaza Strip via cooperation in the field of humanitarian aid.

As part of the initiative, three Qatari Armed Forces aircrafts arrived in the city of El Arish in Egypt on 27 February 2024, which carried a total of 75 tons of humanitarian aid inclusive of 10 ambulances, shelter supplies, and food items which were provided by Qatar and the French Republic to be transferred to Gaza.

During the talks held as part of H.H. the Amir Sheikh Tamim's visit, H.E. the French President welcomed H.H. the Amir and praised the close relations between the two countries.

For his part, H.H. the Amir expressed his deep thanks and appreciation to H.E. the French President for the warm reception, noting the growth witnessed by the strategic relations between the two countries and expressing his hope for more partnership and cooperation in various fields to achieve the common interests of the two friendly countries.

The session also dealt with developments in issues in the regional and international arenas, most notably developments in the situation in the Gaza Strip.

A signing ceremony of a declaration of intent for cooperation in the fields of humanitarian assistance and emergency intervention was also witnessed by H.H. Amir Sheikh Tamim and H.E. President of the French Republic Emmanuel Macron.
